More than just a blog

Well, after much thought and reflection as well as the nudge from a faithful viewer on our RV YouTube Channel, I’ve decided to start a blog about our travels! I’m about a year too late but better late than never, right? It will be more than just a blog because this will be our family’s memory journal as well! There have been so many exciting memories and testimonies of God working in our lives that I haven’t written down. That needs to change. I want my kids to grow up and be able to read some things they may have forgotten about this journey of a lifetime. I will try my best to write posts about all of the awesome and crazy adventures that have happened so far as well as moments in the present. Needless to say, I will be sharing many more memories here than I will be on YouTube.

Right now we are staying in Maine – the furthest eastern state! We are on our way to Vermont to cross it off the map. It’s the first time any of us have been to this state!

Our rules for placing a sticker are as follows:

  1. We have to be there for at least an hour
  2. Breathe the air
  3. Walk on the ground

That means driving through the state doesn’t count. We also like to take a picture as a family and buy a sticker with the state name on it. We tend to pick things to do that are free or cheap since a family of 5 isn’t cheap as a tourist! We enjoy doing things that involve nature because it’s God’s beautiful creation! We also like to go to thrift stores and buy something cheap from every state! That wasn’t intentional until we got to Maine since we just discovered we had been doing that anyway. 😂 It makes it easy since you can find a thrift store just about anywhere! We brought our puppy, Lady, with us since it’s about 2.5 hours away from our campsite. That will limit our options like thrift stores but she’s worth the task. We also like to get a sticker from every state as well. We aren’t sure what we will do with them but we are making a scrapbook so they might go in there. We also try to share the gospel in any state we can. It may be an interview, gospel tracts, or open-air preaching. If you want to see some videos of that, they are in my husband’s channel, Outside The Camp.

I hope to do another post tonight about our time in Vermont but since we are 6 minutes away from our first location at Quechee (kweechee) Gorge, I better get going!

Please leave me a comment letting me know how many states you’ve visited and if Vermont is one of them! Yah bless you!
